Dan Thompson

Assistant Professor, Political Science

Dan Thompson serves as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles, since July 2020. Prior to this role, Dan contributed to academia as a PhD Candidate at Stanford University from September 2016 to July 2020, after earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science and Government. Dan's professional experience includes roles as a Project Analyst II and Project Analyst I at Nexant (August 2014 - August 2016), a Research Consultant at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (January 2014 - June 2014), and Graduate Student Researcher positions at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (January 2013 - June 2014) and the Berkeley Energy and Climate Institute, UC Berkeley (June 2013 - August 2013). Dan holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis from the University of California, Berkeley (2012-2014) and a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Berklee College of Music (2007-2010).
