Neil Mitra

Neil Mitra is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mitra Biotechnologies, a startup focused on innovative rapid point-of-care diagnostics based in Waterloo, Ontario. Neil is also a global member of the Masason Foundation, selected for impactful contributions alongside other distinguished individuals. As an undergraduate student at The University of British Columbia, Neil engages in various research roles, including work on microfluidic devices and cardiac biomarker detection. Additional leadership roles include Global Teen Leader at the We Are Family Foundation, Fellow at Next Chapter, and Head of Outreach for UBC Rocket. Neil's academic background includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering, with prior research experience that led to patenting a novel nanomaterial-based filter for biomedical applications.
