Chief People Officer, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital

Tonia Suber Allen is chief people officer for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals and vice president of people and culture for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. She oversees human resources for the Oakland campus, working with UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals leadership to advance comprehensive strategic plans, establish priorities and articulate a shared administrative vision. She joined UCSF in 2022.

Suber Allen has more than 20 years of leadership experience in human resources, strategic operations, organizational development, and employee and labor relations. She is certified in Just Culture, a shared accountability framework focused on the fair treatment of employees.

Suber Allen earned her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her master’s degree in organization and management from Capella University, where she also completed all coursework and examinations toward a doctoral degree.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Suber Allen is a die-hard Steelers fan. She is married to her best friend, Richard T. Allen Jr. She enjoys writing poetry, traveling and the arts.
