Diane M. Morefield

Diane Morefield is a financial and operating executive with over 35 years of experience in CFO and executive roles, primarily of publicly-traded real estate companies (REITs). She has successfully led all aspects of finance organizations and has extensive experience in M&A having been involved with multiple acquisitions and divestitures over the course of her career. Ms. Morefield’s career also includes public accounting, consulting and commercial banking experience. She currently serves on the board of Copart (NASDAQ: CPRT) and is Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee. In addition, she served six years on the board of Spirit Realty (NYSE: SRC) and as their audit chair. She is on several other advisory and non-public boards, including Nareit’s Advisory Board of Governors.

Diane is currently the EVP and Chief Financial officer of CyrusOne (NASDAQ: CONE), a publicly-traded global data center REIT with revenue of approximately $1 billion and a total enterprise value in excess of $12 billion. She is responsible for accounting, finance, capital markets, tax, procurement and investor relations. Since joining the company in 2016, she has raised in excess of $13 billion of capital in various capital markets transactions. She serves on the executive leadership team that sets strategy and led the capital structuring for the company’s expansion into Europe, China and Latin America through direct acquisitions and joint venture partnerships.

Prior to CyrusOne, Diane served as EVP & CFO of Strategic Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: BEE), a publicly-traded hotel REIT that was sold to Blackstone Group for over $6.5 billion in 2015. She spent 10 years at Equity Office, the largest publicly-traded REIT at that time, and Equity International, a private equity company controlled by Sam Zell. Her experience at Equity Office included SVP operations with P&L responsibility for the Midwest region with over $450 million in revenue.

Diane earned her BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and is a CPA. She has her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and often interviewed for real estate and financial publications, including the Wall Street Journal and CFO Magazine. Ms. Morefield has received several awards, including Power Women in Chicago Commercial Real Estate, The World’s 50 Most Powerful Women in the Data Economy, and CFO of the Year Award from the Finvest 2020 global awards.
