Martin O'Boyle has a diverse work experience in the sports industry. Martin started their career at the BBC as a Producer/Reporter. Martin then joined Everton Football Club as a Communications Officer, where they successfully managed the club's internal and external communications. After that, they worked as a Venue Data Coordinator at UEFA. Martin then became a Football Administration Consultant for various organizations. Later, they joined FIFA as a Lead Editor, responsible for FIFA's digital output and social media strategy. Martin also served as a Competitions Coordinator/General Coordinator for FIFA, coordinating competition matters for FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. Martin was later appointed as a Venue Operations and Broadcast Manager at UEFA, representing the organization for operational, broadcast, and commercial matters at various tournaments and matches. Martin also worked at The Premier League and The Football Association as a Match Manager. With their extensive experience in various roles, Martin O'Boyle has developed strong knowledge and skills in sports management, communication, and event coordination.

Martin O'Boyle attended Lancaster University from 1999 to 2002, where they earned a 2:1 BA (Hons.) degree in History. Furthermore, they obtained a Certificate in Professional Football Management and Administration from Southampton Solent University in July 2012.
