Pavel Kolev has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Pavel started their career as an Editor at the 24 chasa daily newspaper, where they worked for over 13 years. Pavel then transitioned to Max Magazine, where they served as the Editor-in-Chief and Editor. In 2009, they joined the Bulgarian Football Union as the Head of Communications and later became the Deputy General Secretary. In 2019, Kolev became the CEO of PFC Levski Sofia, a position they held until 2021. Alongside their roles in the football industry, Kolev also worked for UEFA, first as a Match Delegate and later as a Committee Member. Pavel also served as the EURO Under-17 Championship Tournament Director in Bulgaria. Kolev's most recent position has been as the Venue Director at UEFA, where they are responsible for the sporting domain in the organization of UEFA Club Competitions matches.
Pavel Kolev pursued their educational endeavors over the years. Pavel first obtained a college degree in History, ancient languages, and cultures from NGDEK, which they completed from 1989 to 1994. Later on, from 1998 to 2004, Pavel enrolled in Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. In 2011, they furthered their studies at IDHEAP Lausanne and successfully obtained a Diploma in Football Management, completing the program in 2013. Lastly, Pavel pursued a Master's degree in European Sports Governance from CDES, which they completed in the academic period of 2016 to 2018.
