Pekka Luhtanen

Pekka Luhtanen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sports coaching and biomechanics. Luhtanen has been a life member of UEFA and the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports, contributing to the development of sports science since 1982. As Coach of the Coaches and life member of the Football Association of Finland, Luhtanen has played a significant role in advancing coaching methodologies. Luhtanen served as a Senior Researcher at KIHU - Research Institute for Olympic Sports and as Associate Professor at the University of Jyväskylä, focusing on biomechanics and coaching. Leadership roles include Chairman of the Finnish Olympic Committee and Managing Director of OY Sport Analysis and Game Evolution. Luhtanen also chaired the European Master Degree Programme in Soccer Coaching, enhancing academic collaborations across universities. Educationally, Luhtanen holds a PhD in Biomechanics from the University of Jyväskylä.
