Richie Wellens

Richie Wellens is a seasoned professional footballer and coach with extensive experience in the sport. A qualified UEFA B and UEFA A licence coach, Wellens has served as the first team coach at Oldham Athletic from June 2017 to June 2018. Prior to coaching, Wellens enjoyed a successful playing career spanning over two decades, amassing more than 700 appearances and serving as captain for Blackpool, Oldham, Doncaster, and Leicester City. Notable clubs played for include Manchester United, Blackpool, Leicester City, and Doncaster Rovers. Education includes attending North Manchester High School from 1991 to 1996. Currently, Wellens works with UEFA as an ex-professional footballer.
