Dan Clayton has extensive work experience in the field of audit and internal audit management. Dan is currently working as an Audit Director at UF Health since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Internal Audit at the Utah Department of Health and Human Services from 2021 to 2022, where they played a key role in merging two internal audit departments and implementing improved audit models and methodologies. From 2019 to 2021, Dan worked as a Management Consultant at Accountability Consulting, providing consultancy services. Dan was also a member of the International IIA Committee for Research & Education Advisors at the International Institute of Internal Auditors from 2016 to 2020. Dan has also worked at the University of Texas System as the System Director of IA Strategy & KM from 2013 to 2019. Prior to that, they held various positions at CHAN HEALTHCARE, including Director of IA Strategy & KM and Senior Manager of IA. Furthermore, they have experience working as an Internal Auditor at Denver Health and as a Senior Associate at PwC.
Dan Clayton earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University, where they studied from 1991 to 1998. Dan later obtained additional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy in April 2015, Certified Internal Auditor from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in December 2014, and Certified Knowledge Manager from the Knowledge Management Professional Society (KMPro) in 2007.
