Omar Barakat

Omar Barakat possesses extensive experience in sterile processing and management within healthcare settings, currently serving as the Sterile Processing Manager at UF Health since January 2022. Previously, Omar held managerial roles at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and East Orange General Hospital, where responsibilities included overseeing the Central Sterile Department, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to the sterilization and distribution of medical supplies. Omar also has a strong foundation in the technical aspects of sterilization from earlier positions at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where hands-on experience with instrument decontamination and sterilization processes was developed.
