Torben Becker

Torben Becker serves as Chief of Service of Emergency Medicine and Co-Director of the Clinical Ethics Service at UF Health since March 2022. In addition to this role, Becker holds various positions at the University of Florida, including Vice-Chair of Critical Care Medicine and Executive Director of Emergency Medicine within the UF Health Critical Care Organization. Other key roles include Director of Emergency Resuscitation Service, Associate Professor, and founder of Torben K. Becker, LLC, specializing in medicolegal consulting. Becker is also a Flight Physician with MD1Program and Medical Director of the Critical Care Division at Alachua County Fire Rescue. As President of the Global Health Coalition Corp., Becker supports global health initiatives. Additionally, bar associations include chairing positions at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Becker's educational background includes an MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, and an MD from Heidelberg University.
