Milton Hum has extensive work experience in various roles. Milton began their career as a Law Clerk at the Law Office of Bill Fazio in 2000. Milton then went on to establish their own law firm, the Law Offices of Milton Hum, in 2003, where they specialized in labor law and union labor contract negotiation. In this role, they successfully generated new clients and provided legal guidance in additional areas such as landlord/tenant, personal injury, and estate planning cases.

In 2005, Milton Hum joined the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 648 as the Vice President and Grievance Coordinator. Milton later became the Secretary-Treasurer and continued to oversee all union staff, serving as the primary Grievance and Arbitration Coordinator for the 4,300-member union. Milton improved employee relations by conducting interviews to determine which grievance cases should be submitted for arbitration or settlement conferences. Additionally, they mediated and resolved conflicts among various stakeholders, including employers, attorneys, and labor relations negotiators.

In 2011, Milton Hum briefly worked as the Deputy Campaign Manager and Asian Outreach Director for the Bill Fazio for District Attorney campaign. Milton improved multicultural relations by handling Asian media requests and enhanced community outreach in local Asian communities by coordinating fundraising activities and proactive events.

Milton Hum has a Juris Doctor degree in Law from the San Francisco Law School. Milton also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University. Additionally, they are an active member of the California State Bar Association, which they obtained in June 2003.
