Greg Thys

Greg Thys has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Greg currently works at UFG Insurance as an Information Security Engineer, a role they have held since November 2021. Before this, they worked as an Information Security Administrator at the same company from August 2018 to November 2021.

Prior to joining UFG Insurance, Greg was employed at Mary Greeley Medical Center for a significant period. Greg started as a System Support Tech in October 2011 and then progressed to become a System Administrator from January 2014 to January 2016. Their responsibilities included configuring and maintaining network and security systems, such as Cisco IOS switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless LAN controllers. Greg also managed Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and Infoblox Network Automation systems, as well as other specialized technologies like Aeroscout temperature and location tracking systems.

Before their tenure at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Greg worked as a Community Safety Officer at the City of Ames - Police Department from September 2011 to August 2013. Greg also gained experience as a Recovery Tech at Iowa Lions Eye Bank from December 2009 to September 2011, where they were involved in the retrieval and preservation of eye tissue for transplantation.

Greg's earlier work experience includes an internship as a Desktop Support Intern at Transamerica from May 2007 to August 2010. Here, they provided technical support for desktop systems.
