Dr Mariane Melo

Dr. Mariane Melo currently holds the position of Clinical Trials and Regulation Lead at Ufonia since June 2024 and has been involved in the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme as an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur since February 2023. Simultaneously, Dr. Melo serves as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Fellow at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and has been an Honorary Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital, focusing on AI development for ophthalmology triage since November 2019. As a co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Dem Dx and co-founder of Pharmaview, Dr. Melo has contributed to innovative projects, including a therapeutic vaccine for cocaine addiction. Previous roles include Clinical Research Associate at Drug's Reference Center and Associate Researcher at Evelina Children's Hospital NHS. Dr. Melo earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and King's College London, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Medical Physiology from the University of East London and technical training in clinical chemistry. Funding for projects includes Innovate UK and NIHR AI awards.
