María Osorio has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies throughout their career. María started their career as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of New Jersey in 2002. María then worked as a Tenants' Rights Advocate and later as an Anti-Displacement Project Coordinator at Strategic Actions for a Just Economy. In 2004, they became an Associate Director at the same organization.

María then transitioned to working in the education sector, joining California State University, Long Beach as an Employee Relations Coordinator in 2005. In 2006, they moved to California State University, Chancellor's Office as an Employee Relations Manager, and later became the Manager of Campus Relations and Dispute Resolution.

In 2009, María joined Pace University as a Labor and Employee Relations Manager, and later became the Interim Director of Employee and Labor Relations. In 2011, they moved back to California State University, Chancellor's Office, where they worked as a Labor and Employee Relations Manager.

From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Labor and Employee Relations Consultant at UC Irvine. In 2014, they joined St. John's Well Child & Family Center as the Director of Human Resources.

In 2015, María joined California State University, Fullerton, where they held various roles, including Interim Director for Faculty Labor Relations, Director of Faculty Labor Relations and Compliance, and DHR Administrator and Director of Labor and Employee Relations and Compliance.

Most recently, in 2017, they joined UFW Foundation as the People Relations Director. María later became the People Relations and Operations Director, and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer since September 2022.

María Osorio has a diverse education history. In 1986-1988, they attended Long Beach City College for general education courses. Following this, in 1989, they briefly attended Santa Barbara City College for further general education studies. In the same year, they enrolled at UC Santa Barbara, graduating in 1991 with a BA in Art Studio. In 1996-1998, María attended Whittier Law School, focusing on law studies. María later transferred to City University of New York School of Law, where they completed their Juris Doctor degree from 1998 to 2000. In 2010, María pursued SPHR courses at Pace University. Then, in 2006-2009, they attended California State University, Long Beach, earning an MPA in Public Administration. Finally, in 2017, they participated in a program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business focused on "People, Culture, and Performance: Strategies from Silicon Valley."
