Joseph Asiimwe

Joseph Asiimwe is an experienced environmental specialist and advisor with a robust background in environmental impact assessments and compliance management across various sectors. Currently serving as an ESG Advisor at Nikao Consults since April 2021, Joseph continues to work with the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) since June 2017 in multiple roles, including Environmental Specialist and Senior Environment Officer, focusing on compliance assessments and environmental safeguard integration in infrastructure projects. Previously, Joseph held senior positions at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited, overseeing feasibility studies and environmental documentation for hydropower projects, and contributed to local governance through the Ministry of Water and Environment. Joseph's academic qualifications include multiple master's degrees in Environmental Science and Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law from Makerere University, as well as specialized training in Environmental Impact Assessment from the Environment Protection Training & Research Institute in India.
