David M. Cox

David M. Cox is an experienced professional in the solar energy and real estate development sectors. Currently serving as Origination Manager for Texas and New Mexico at UGE since January 2023, David oversees site selection for distributed generation solar and battery energy storage systems. As President of East Village Properties, LTD since January 2002, David focuses on real estate development, remodeling, and new home construction in East Austin, emphasizing green building and solar integration. Previously, as CEO of Go Big Solar, LLC from December 2014 to September 2023, David specialized in solar energy development and consultation. Co-founding UtiliCell Inc. in 2014, David contributed to the development of energy storage projects using lithium-ion batteries. Earlier, as Regional Director for Europe at the Texas Department of Commerce from 1993 to 1996, David managed export marketing programs targeting various international markets. David holds an MBA in International Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
