Chanel Laroda

Chanel LaRoda is a seasoned professional in the field of medical underwriting with extensive experience in evaluating and pricing financial risk for prospective clients. Currently serving as a Senior Medical Underwriter at UnitedHealth Group since August 2020, Chanel is responsible for assessing mortality and morbidity risks per established guidelines. Prior roles include Senior Underwriter at EMSI, where Chanel managed Life/Medical insurance applications and consistently achieved favorable client audit ratings. Additional experience includes teaching as an adjunct instructor in medical billing, coding, and biology at Hillsborough Community College. Chanel has also served as a Medical Underwriting Consultant at HealthPlan Services and began a career as a Life Underwriter at MetLife, where high production rankings were achieved. Chanel holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida.
