Valerie Devereaux, DNP, MSN, RN, BC, serves as the Vice President of Nursing and Vice President of the Behavioral Division at UHS since November 2015. In addition, Valerie has been a self-employed Nursing Health Care Consultant since January 2010, providing expertise on survey preparation and improving nurse leadership workflows. Valerie previously held the role of Vice President and Director of Operations at Geo Care, Inc. from 1998 to 2011, where significant contributions included establishing a managed care program and expanding it to multiple locations. As Hospital Administrator at Atlanta Shores Hospital from 2000 to 2004, Valerie successfully addressed operational deficiencies and restored community trust. Additionally, as Chief Nursing Officer at South Florida State Hospital from 1998 to 2000, Valerie led nursing and clinical quality operations in a public/private partnership. Educational credentials include a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Chatham University, a Registered Nurse Diploma from Newport Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Health Services from Roger Williams University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida.
