Betina Dufault

Betina Dufault oversees the firm’s policies for quality control and financial reporting, including licensing, inspections, and peer review. Betina is also a member of UHY LLP’s Management Committee. With more than twenty-five years of experience, Betina has a strong regulatory, accounting, and auditing background that includes fifteen years at the PCAOB, two years as a Professional Accounting Fellow at the SEC, and ten years with a Big Four accounting firm.

Betina has strong leadership abilities and significant experience working on complex accounting, auditing, and regulatory matters. She has directed both public and private company audits, mainly in the technology industry, and worked on numerous initial public offerings and other transactional filings as well as successfully responded to SEC comment letters.

Betina has advised clients on current accounting and auditing requirements in software revenue recognition, business combinations, asset impairments, debt and equity arrangements, segment reporting, and discontinued operations, with a focus on companies in the technology industry. She conducted the first PCAOB inspections of Big Four accounting firms and helped develop the PCAOB inspection and reporting program for triennially inspected firms. Additionally, Betina oversaw the remediation program for large accounting firms and developed and conducted numerous training events on inspection-related matters.
