Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Verify approval on all invoices and payment requisitions, ensuring that the purchase order, contracts (if applicable) and necessary back up is attached
  • Ensure the coding on the payment requisitions is correct, entered into the system and posted
  • Verify HST calculations
  • For items in Microix (purchasing system), match the invoice to the PO and update the HST calculations and post to Abila MIP
  • Able to prepare and process cheques for multiple entities
  • Identify vendor updates to ensure database is accurate
  • Able to process and enter 150-200 invoices per week
  • Verify employee expenses and ensure back up is attached and signed off by the appropriate supervisor
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Responsible for reimbursing individuals through petty cash and tracking and reconciling the petty cash
  • Assist other Finance team members on ad-hoc projects, as needed

Skills and attributes

  • Proven working experience as an accounts payable clerk
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
  • Knowledge of Abila MIP an asset, but not required
  • This is a full-time permanent position. Union Level Two.
