David has held a variety of leadership positions over his decade-long involvement with UJA, most recently co-chairing the annual campaign. He’s passionate about improving the lives of fellow New Yorkers and strengthening the Jewish community.
Professionally, David is chairman and CEO of Moore Holdings, which invests in and manages a variety of private companies, and is a partner in Sonostar Ventures, LLC, an investor in start-ups and public securities.
Over the years, David has served on UJA’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, as well as the Finance and Allocations Steering committees. He is a member of UJA’s Wall Street Strategic Council and co-chaired the Private Equity Division. David has had longstanding involvement with The Jewish Board, and was the 2019 recipient of their Saul Z. Cohen Leadership Award. He is also committed to a wide range of educational, social service, and communal organizations, including the City Parks Foundation, Central Synagogue, and Amherst College.
David believes in sharing the importance and scope of UJA’s impact with all New Yorkers. As a speaker who knows how to hold an audience, David has appeared as a professional stand-up comedian. He’s also a minority owner of the Atlanta Hawks NBA team. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Lori, and their two children.
