Patrick Hess has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Patrick is currently the Director of Customer Success at ujet.cx since January 2022. Prior to this, Patrick held the position of Head of Enterprise Customer Success at Digi International, where they led a team in managing $15.5M in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and achieved 80% growth in two years. Patrick also built and managed a nine-person team for implementing new hardware and software deployments, resulting in $4.3M in revenue in the first year. Patrick played a key role in driving customer success, managing accounts, resolving issues, and implementing strategic plans, resulting in a net revenue retention of 129% year over year. Patrick also collaborated with the sales team to identify and execute cross-sell and upsell opportunities, increasing recurring revenue by over $3M. Additionally, they served as a committee member for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Digi International. Before Digi International, Patrick worked as a Project Manager and Computer Science Teacher at Excel Academy Charter Schools. Patrick co-founded InspectDate, a project management software company, and served as the Head of Operations and Product, leading business development, acquiring enterprise clients, and overseeing software product development. Patrick also gained experience at Dell and Apple as a Senior Program Manager and LATAM Supply Demand Manager, respectively. In their early career, they worked as a Trade Finance Manager at Tradex International Finance, where they managed credit analysis and loan documentation for Latin American businesses. Patrick also served as a Market Analyst during an internship at the United States Commercial Service and worked as an Account Administrator at Rice Hall James & Associates, LLC.
Patrick Hess holds a Master's Degree in International Economics from the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) which they completed from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Finance with a minor in Spanish from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management between 2001 and 2004. Additionally, they have also acquired certifications such as MEDDPICC Masterclass from MEDDICC in 2022, GIS Data Formats, Design and Quality, Fundamentals of GIS from Coursera in 2020, and Customer Success Leader from The Success League in 2020.
