Ruth Jesson-Smith

Ruth Jesson-Smith has extensive experience in the public sector, currently serving as the Head of the Wraparound Unit for Early Years and Childcare at the Department for Education since September 2016. Prior roles at the Department for Education include Assistant Director of the Governance Unit and Senior Strategy Adviser for Children's Social Care. Ruth began a career in the Civil Service Fast Stream from October 2013 to September 2016, working as a Generalist Fast Streamer across various departments and completing a secondment to UKSA. Earlier experience includes a role focusing on Academy Sponsorship Strategy at the Department for Education. Ruth holds a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge and a Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Masters in Management from Hult Ashridge Executive Education.
