Alastair Gilmartin Smith is an accomplished financial executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as a Non Executive Director and Chair of the Finance Committee at The National Autistic Society since February 2024, Alastair also holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at UK Finance since 2017. Previously, Alastair was a Non Executive Director and Chair of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee at UK Coaching from 2016 to 2021, and served as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Business Planning and Analysis at Ofcom from 2005 to 2017. Alastair's earlier career included significant roles at Cable and Wireless, as well as a Financial Analyst position at First Data Resources Ltd. Alastair holds qualifications from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and attended Harvard Business School in 2009, after earning a degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne between 1985 and 1987.
