Aysha Fernandes is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in competition law and commercial finance. Currently serving as Director of Commercial Finance at UK Finance since October 2019, Aysha has also held the position of Interim General Counsel. Prior roles include Interim Head of Competition Law for Retail, Commercial & Private Banking at HSBC and Senior Commercial Lawyer at Waitrose. Aysha's legal career began at Eversheds LLP, where growth progressed from Trainee Solicitor to Principal Associate. Academically, Aysha holds a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King's College London and a Legal Practice Course from the College of Law, Guildford, complemented by a Law degree from the University of Warwick.
