Eugene J. Alpert, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the fields of education and higher education. Eugene J. began their career in 1976 as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Political Science at Texas Christian University, where they taught American Government, Political Parties, Congress, Presidency, Scope and Methods of Political Science, Washington Internship Seminar, and Program Management and Evaluation (MPA Program). Eugene J. also served on numerous university committees. In 1982, they were appointed as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow for the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. In 1993, they joined The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars as Vice President for Academic Affairs, overseeing the academic internships, academic courses, academic seminars, and student life and housing. Eugene J. later became Senior Vice President, with responsibility for internships, academic courses, academic seminars, student life and housing, admissions and enrollment, institutional relations and outreach, and the national liaison advisory board. In 2004, they were appointed as an Alternate Director representing the National Society for Experiential Education for the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). From 2015-2017, they were Vice President for the Osgood Center for International Studies, a nonprofit educational organization that provides experiential education programs for college and graduate students from around the world. Eugene J. was also a Steering Committee Member for the Washington Program Consortium from 2017-2019, a Senior Associate for Strategic Initiatives for the National Collegiate Honors Council from 2015-2019, President of the National Society for Experiential Education from 2002-2014, and a Board Member for United Planet from 2014-2019. In 2019, they became Co-Founder and Chief Education Officer of ULodging.

Eugene J. Alpert, Ph.D. began their educational journey at the University of Rochester, where they earned a B.A. in Political Science Major and Statistics Minor in 1970. In 1971, they attended the University of Michigan. Eugene J. then returned to Michigan State University, where they completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Political Science in 1972, and their Ph.D. in Political Science in 1977. In 1969, they also attended Harvard University.
