Michael Tierney

Michael Tierney currently serves as a City Council Member for Kingston's Second Ward since January 2024 and as a Tenant Representative on the Kingston Rent Guidelines Board since August 2022, where notable achievements include implementing the first negative rental adjustment for ETPA leases in 2022 and a subsequent 0% adjustment in 2023. In addition, Michael holds the position of Senior Legislative Employee for Ulster County since October 2022 and previously worked as a Legislative Assistant in the New York State Assembly from January 2020 to August 2022, where responsibilities included legislative research, advocacy, and constituent services. Earlier experience includes roles such as Co-Chair of the Ulster County Young Democrats and Field Organizer for the Ulster County Democratic Party. Michael earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from SUNY New Paltz from 2013 to 2017.
