Paul Connolly currently serves as Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Ulster University since August 2022. Prior experience includes the role of Executive Dean for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Lancaster University from January 2020 to July 2022, and various leadership positions at Queen's University Belfast from September 2003 to December 2019, including Dean of Research and Interim Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise. Paul Connolly began an academic career at the University of Ulster as a Senior Lecturer in Sociology from September 1994 to August 2003, following a lecturer position in the same field. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Applied Statistics (distinction) from Sheffield Hallam University, a PhD in Sociology of Education from the University of Leicester, an MA in Race and Ethnic Studies (distinction) from the University of Warwick, and a BSocSc (Hons) in Social Administration from the University of Birmingham.
