Rene Cásares

Rene was named Ulta Beauty’s Chief Legal Officer in April 2025. Prior to joining Ulta Beauty, Rene served in various legal leadership roles at Academy Sports + Outdoors since March 2013, including most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary. Previously, he served as an attorney at Vinson & Elkins and Latham & Watkins, where he advised companies with M&A, private equity, corporate governance and capital markets. Additionally, Rene has a background in finance and consulting after serving at Growth Capital Partners, KPMG Consulting, and Merrill Lynch. Rene sits on the board of directors of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Retail Litigation Center.
