Amanda Beck has worked as a Design Engineer at Ulteig since 2020. Prior to that, they were a Station Engineer at GE Grid Solutions from 2017 to 2020, where they were responsible for leading engineering efforts for substation distribution-level upgrades. Amanda also managed internal and external teams, worked closely with application engineers, product teams, and proposal teams, and applied advanced tools to decrease bid package preparation time. Before that, Amanda worked as a New Business Intern at ComEd in 2016, where they automated weekly reports and worked on AutoCAD designs for change-of-service distribution projects. Amanda also has experience as an Electrical Engineering Intern at GE Grid Solutions in 2016, where they developed a library of 3D models and programmed tools for substation controls design. Prior to that, Amanda worked at Normandale Community College as a Tutor, Photo Lab Assistant, and ITS Student Worker, providing assistance to students, answering questions, and troubleshooting technology issues. Amanda also has experience as a Retail Sales Associate at ANN INC., a Muralist at Supanich Studios, a Customer Service Representative at White House Custom Colour, a Lead Photographer at Studio Max, and an Art Teacher at Clintonville Public School District.

Amanda Beck pursued their education in a sequential manner. Amanda started their academic journey by completing a B.A. in Art History and Art from the University of Minnesota, which they attended from 2004 to 2008. Afterward, Amanda attended Normandale Community College from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained an AS in Engineering Foundations to further their studies in the field of engineering. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2014 to 2017, where they successfully earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Amanda has also obtained several certifications, including "How to Organize Your Time and Your Life," "Leading without Formal Authority," "Speaking Confidently and Effectively," and "Overcoming Procrastination," which were all obtained from LinkedIn in 2021.
