Sarah Beckman, PE, SMIEEE has a diverse work experience in the engineering industry. Sarah currently holds the position of Chief Member at Chief since May 2023. Prior to this, Sarah had a long tenure at Ulteig, where they held various roles. Sarah served as Vice President, Power Market, where they provided executive leadership in the Power Lifeline Sector, supporting electric utilities across North America. Sarah also worked as a Program Director - Key Client, responsible for developing technical and field solutions for key investor-owned utility projects. Sarah further served as the Market Director - Power, where they fostered client relationships and grew Ulteig's electric utility business. Sarah's earlier role at Ulteig was as the Technical Director of Transmission, Distribution, and Communications, where they managed the department, trained engineers and managers, maintained client relationships, and focused on strategic planning. Prior to their time at Ulteig, Sarah worked as a Transmission Line and Structural Engineer at Burns & McDonnell, leading civil and structural design projects in the Transmission & Distribution group. Sarah also worked briefly as a Structural Engineer at Horner & Shifrin, Inc. Sarah began their career as an Assistant Civil/Structural Engineer at Burns & McDonnell, where they were involved in various design aspects, including site grading, foundation design, and steel design for substations and transmission lines. Sarah brings a wealth of experience and expertise to their current role as Chief Member.

Sarah Beckman, PE, SMIEEE earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they attended from 2001 to 2005. Sarah has also obtained multiple professional certifications, including being a Professional Engineer in Missouri, New Hampshire, Colorado, Texas, Vermont, Illinois, California, and Indiana. Additionally, they have completed various other certifications, such as Sales Excellence in Strategic/Conceptual Selling from MHI Global, MDA Assessment from MDA Leadership Consulting, and Maximizing Your Leadership Potential from the Center for Creative Leadership.
