Shenita Jenkins

Shenita Jenkins, MBA, CCS-P has over 15 years of work experience in various roles related to medical billing and coding. Shenita began their career as a Medical Billing Specialist at Reimbursement X-Perts in 2005 and then worked as an Accounts Receivable & Financial Reports Coordinator at First Coast Mohs Skin Cancer Surgery Center from 2006 to 2007. Following this, they served as an Adjunct Instructor at Everest University-Jacksonville from 2007 to 2009, teaching the Medical Insurance Billing & Coding Program.

Shenita then joined Southeast Spine & Rehabilitation / Southeast Treatment Center in 2007, where they initially worked as a Lead Biller & Coder until 2009. Shenita was subsequently promoted to the role of Insurance Department Manager, a position they held until 2012. In 2010, they started working as an Online Adjunct Instructor at Ultimate Medical Academy and continued in this role until 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they served as a Lead Faculty Member at Ultimate Medical Academy before being promoted to Lead Faculty Coordinator, a position they held until 2019. In 2020, they briefly worked as a Lead Instructor before assuming their current role as the Program Director for the Medical Billing & Coding and Healthcare Accounting Programs at Ultimate Medical Academy.

In addition to their work at Ultimate Medical Academy, Shenita also worked at Select Data, Inc from 2016 to 2018 as a Home Health Coder & OASIS Reviewer. Shenita holds an MBA degree and is a Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P).

Shenita Jenkins, MBA, CCS-P has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Florida, which was obtained between 2020 and 2022. Shenita also holds a Bachelor's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, earned from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their degrees, they have achieved the certification of Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based (CCS-P) from AHIMA, obtained in March 2007.
