Lorenz Rognoni

Lorenz Rognoni has extensive work experience in the field of image data science and artificial intelligence. Lorenz currently holds the position of Director Image Data Science at Ultivue, starting in October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal AI Scientist at AstraZeneca from May 2020 to October 2021.

Before joining AstraZeneca, Lorenz held various roles at Definiens, The Tissue Phenomics Company, starting as a Consultant Datafication in February 2015 and eventually progressing to Senior Team Manager, Image Analysis from November 2019 to May 2020. At Definiens, they supported biopharma customers with projects related to oncology biomarker programs, utilizing advanced image analysis, artificial intelligence, and translational sciences.

Lorenz also gained research experience as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Technische Universität München from June 2014 to January 2015. Overall, they have demonstrated expertise in the application of image analysis, datafication, and artificial intelligence in the healthcare and biopharmaceutical industry.

Lorenz Rognoni completed their education in physics at several prestigious institutions. Lorenz obtained their Vordiplom in Physics from Freie Universität Berlin from 2002 to 2004. Lorenz then pursued a Diplom degree in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Lorenz furthered their education by earning a Doktor (Ph.D.) degree in Physics from the Technical University of Munich, completing their studies from 2008 to 2014.

In addition to their academic degrees, Lorenz Rognoni has also obtained several certifications. Lorenz completed the course "Applied Machine Learning in Python" from Coursera in May 2018 and "Introduction to Data Science in Python" from Coursera in January 2018. Additionally, they received certification as a Project Manager from TÜV SÜD in April 2016.
