Alan Stebbins has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Alan started their career in 2009 as an Environmental Health and Safety professional and Peer Advisor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In 2011, they worked as a Chemistry Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and then joined the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a Radiochemist Summer Research Fellow.

From 2012 to 2018, Alan worked at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where they held various roles including Analytical Technician, School for the Environment Research Fellow, and Laboratory Manager/Research Associate. During this time, they gained experience in maintaining equipment and laboratories, developing analytical methodology, conducting research on sulfur cycle and paleoenvironmental reconstruction, as well as performing sample analysis.
