Principle Systems Engineer at Ultra Maritime

Rick Martelli is an accomplished systems engineer with extensive experience in the defense sector. Currently serving as Principal Systems Engineer at Ultra Maritime, Rick provides systems design authority for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) project. Previously, Rick held the position of Senior Systems Engineer at Rheinmetall Defence, where leadership was provided for the Naval Offboard anti-Missile Active Decoy (NOMAD) project. Earlier roles include Head of Capability at Tactical Technologies Inc., where responsibility encompassed capability and product development, and Product Manager/Technical Leader at Lockheed Martin Canada, where Rick utilized expertise gained from military training as a Naval Combat Systems Engineer. Rick's career began at MEL Defence Systems as a Software Engineer, and foundational training was received in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Combat Systems Engineer. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Information Systems from Athabasca University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from McMaster University, complemented by a certificate in Combat Systems Engineering Theory from the Technical University of Nova Scotia.
