Raymond A. Martinez has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Raymond A. began their career in 1976 as a Marine in the United States Marine Corps. After serving for three years, they joined the Miami Police Department in 1979 and worked their way up to the position of Assistant Chief of Police. In 2001, they moved to the Miami Beach Police Department, where they held the positions of Assistant Chief of Police and later became the Chief of Police until their retirement in 2014. During their time in law enforcement, Martinez gained valuable experience in security and safety.
Following their retirement, Martinez transitioned to the private sector and served as the Event Security Manager for ESPN Global Security and Safety from 2014 to 2018. In this role, they managed security operations for various events. During the same period, they also joined the Ultra Music Festival as the Chief of Security, where they oversaw security coordination with multiple stakeholders.
In 2015, Martinez joined Florida International University as an Adjunct Professor, where they shared their expertise in law enforcement and security. Most recently, they worked for the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee, first as the Vice President of Operations from 2018 to 2019 and then as the Executive Director from July 2019 until the present.
Overall, Martinez has extensive experience in law enforcement, security, and event management, making him a valuable asset in various organizations.
Raymond A. Martinez completed their education with a Master's degree in Public Administration from Florida International University, which they pursued from 1990 to 1993.
