Paul Wickman

Paul Wickman has extensive experience in the field of intellectual property and patent law. Paul began their career as a Technical Specialist at Human Genome Sciences in 2006 before moving on to Cooley LLP, where they worked as both a Patent Agent and a Patent Attorney from 2007 to 2012. Paul then joined Gevo as an IP Counsel from 2012 to 2015. Wickman returned to Cooley LLP in 2015 as a Patent Attorney, and from 2016 onwards, they worked at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. in various roles, including Executive Director, Vice President, and currently as the Senior Vice President of Intellectual Property.

Paul Wickman received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from The George Washington University Law School from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology & Immunology from Creighton University between 2000 and 2006. Their undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biological Sciences from 1996 to 2000.
