Kaushik Rangarajan is a Senior Research Associate at Umami Meats whose primary focus is on the bioprocess engineering aspects of cultured meat.

Kaushik believes cultured meat is not only a healthy and cruelty-free option but also an essential building block for a sustainable carbon-neutral future. In addition to working on the bioprocess development of cultured meat at Umami Meats, he is enthusiastic about ensuring adherence to high working standards such as Lean Six Sigma within the organization. Kaushik’s Ph.D. thesis at Monash University, Australia was on understanding the influence of substrate properties on stem cell fate decisions and lineage commitment. Kaushik holds a Master’s in Biotechnology from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and Bachelor’s in Industrial biotechnology from SASTRA University, India.
