Shaheer S. has extensive work experience in the space industry. Shaheer began their career in 2014 as an ASTRO Intern at SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) and as a High School Research Intern at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. In 2016, they became an Undergraduate Researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they were a Member of Avionics Subsystem Team for the Reconnaissance of Space Objects (RECONSO) satellite mission, an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Decision & Control Lab, an Undergraduate Researcher in the Ben T. Zinn Combustion Lab, and an Undergraduate Researcher in the Cognitive Engineering Center. In 2018, Shaheer joined Northrop Grumman as an Aerospace Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, & Control T02 in the Northrop Grumman Space Systems | Launch Vehicles | Guidance, Navigation, and Control division. In 2020, they were a Member of Technical Staff - Guidance and Navigation at The Aerospace Corporation in the Guidance and Analysis Department. Most recently in 2021, Shaheer became a Senior Spacecraft Operations Systems Engineer at Umbra, where they build next-generation space systems that observe the Earth in unprecedented fidelity.
Shaheer S. attended Georgia Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering. Shaheer is currently enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they are pursuing a Master of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
