Amanda Kowalski

Amanda Kowalski is a distinguished academic in the field of economics, currently serving as the Gail Wilensky Professor of Applied Economics and Public Policy at the University of Michigan since July 2018, where additional responsibilities include being a professor in the Department of Economics. Prior to this role, Amanda held positions at Yale University from July 2009 to June 2018, advancing from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in the Department of Economics. Amanda began her postdoctoral journey as a Fellow in Health Care and Aging at the National Bureau of Economic Research from July 2008 to June 2009, and earlier gained valuable experience as a Research Assistant in Health and Labor at the Council of Economic Advisers in the White House from July 2003 to July 2004, along with a brief tenure as a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs in 2002. Educational credentials include a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology attained between 2004 and 2008 and an AB in Economics from Harvard University obtained from 1999 to 2003.
