Kyle Bushick

Kyle Bushick is an experienced researcher in the field of Materials Science and Engineering, currently serving as a Research Assistant in the Kioupakis Research Group at the University of Michigan since August 2018. Focused on first principles calculations, Kyle specializes in understanding the electronic and optical properties of semiconductors, particularly phonon-mediated quantum processes. Previous experience includes a practicum fellowship at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where training involved Graph Neural Networks for NMR spectra analysis, and notable contributions to high-throughput computing for material screening at Northwestern University. Additional roles encompassed materials engineering internships at SpaceX and QuesTek Innovations LLC, where work involved aluminum alloy development and High Entropy Alloys research, respectively. Kyle holds a PhD and an MS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, along with a BS from Northwestern University.
