Lynn Conway is a distinguished academic and researcher in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science, currently serving as Professor Emerita at the University of Michigan since 1985. Prior to this role, Conway held significant positions including Assistant Director for Strategic Computing at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from 1983 to 1985, and Research Fellow and Manager of the VLSI Systems Area at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center from 1973 to 1983. Additionally, Conway was a Visiting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT during a sabbatical from Xerox PARC in 1978-1979. Early career experiences include being a Senior Staff Engineer at Memorex Corporation (1969-1973) and a Member of the Research Staff at IBM Corporation (1964-1968). Educational credentials include a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Columbia University, as well as studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
