Martino Harmon

VP for Student Life at The University of Michigan

Martino Harmon is the Vice President for Student Life at The University of Michigan. Martino has held this position since June 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs at Iowa State University from September 2013 to June 2020. From November 2008 to May 2012, they were the Dean of Students at Rhodes State College. Martino also served as the Executive Director and Special Assistant to the President for Retention and Student Success at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College from May 2012 to June 2013. Harmon began their career in student affairs at the University of Toledo in 1996, where they served as the Director of Admission and Director of African American Student Enrichment until 2007.

Martino Harmon obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Admininstration from The University of Toledo.

Martino Harmon reports to Mark S. Schlissel, President. They are on a team with Rebecca Cunningham - Interim Vice President for Research, Marschall S. Runge - Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs, and Ravi Pendse - Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.
