Jeroen Heulens

Jeroen Heulens is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operations and research within the metallurgy and materials science sectors. Currently serving as Head of Operations and Director of Recycling & Extraction Technologies at Umicore, Jeroen leads a research platform that organizes innovation programs using advanced pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical technologies. Previous roles include Director of Pyrometallurgy, Supply Manager for Industrial By-Products, and Operations Manager of the Lead Blast Furnace at Umicore's Hoboken plant, overseeing the recycling of over 350,000 metric tonnes annually. Jeroen has contributed to various research initiatives as a Senior Project Leader and Project Leader in pyrometallurgy. Jeroen holds a PhD in Metallurgy and Material Sciences, an M.Sc. in Material Science and Engineering, and additional qualifications in Polish language from K.U.Leuven.
