Marco Lopez

Marco Lopez, Dr. is a highly experienced Principal Scientist at Umicore since March 2013, with a focus on automotive exhaust gas catalyst process improvement and industrial scale-up. Previously, Marco served as a Senior Manager in Industrialisation, where responsibilities included the development and characterization of diesel exhaust gas treatment systems for Heavy Duty applications, along with evaluating exhaust gas systems through engine bench tests and simulations. Additionally, Marco held the position of Manager in Product Management Heavy Duty, focusing on product and system design for exhaust after treatment systems. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Project Leader for catalyst development at Umicore GmbH AG & Co. KG from April 2001 to July 2012. Marco holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Max Planck Institute für Kohlenforschung and a Diplom in Chemistry from The University of Bonn.
