Valerie Mennes

Valerie Mennes is a proficient professional with experience in sustainability and value chain management, currently serving as a Business Young Graduate in Value Chain Management at Umicore since September 2023. In this role, Valerie is involved in optimizing battery recycling through strategic partnerships and developing business plans while conducting market research in the recycling industry. Prior to this, Valerie held the position of Sustainability Manager at Umicore, focusing on carbon footprint assessments. Valerie also worked as a Market Insights and Sustainability Analyst at Rikolto, where expertise in environmental impact assessments enhanced sustainability strategies for Ecuadorian cocoa. Valerie holds a Master's degree in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven, where the thesis centered on the environmental impact of Ecuadorian cocoa, alongside a degree from the KICK Academy in Entre- & Intrapreneurship.
