Colette M. Black has extensive experience in executive management and fundraising in the non-profit sector. Colette M. began their career at Sprint in 1988, holding various roles including Chief of Staff for the CIO and head of Employee Resource Groups. In 2015, they joined United Way of Greater Kansas City as Vice President of Operations and Analytics, overseeing the annual workplace campaign. Colette then served as Director of Foundation at Rodgers Health in 2017, followed by their appointment as Chief Development Officer at Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center and Emergency Shelter for C from 2019 to 2021. In 2021, they became Vice President and Chief Development Officer at the Urban League of Greater Kansas City before assuming their current role as Chief Development Officer at UMOM New Day Centers in 2022.

Colette M. Black holds a BSBA Degree in Information Science from Avila University. Colette M. also has 100 Hours of study in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition, they have obtained various certifications, including a Certificate of Completion from Valley Leadership in 2023, a Volunteer Management Institute (VMI) Certification from Nonprofit Connect in 2021, a NonProfit Fundraising Certification from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2020, a Fund Development Institute Certification from Nonprofit Connect in 2018, and a Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification from The George Washington University in 2003.
