Alexandre Borde

Alexandre Borde is an experienced professional in the fields of carbon finance and climate policy. Currently serving as the Senior External Carbon Finance Expert at UNFCCC since October 2015, Borde is involved in the Registration and Issuance Team. As the Founding Partner of Cibola Invest since January 2022, Borde focuses on minority investments in cleantech. Additionally, as Founder and CEO of Cibola Partners since December 2004, Borde advises enterprises and countries on low carbon transition and climate change adaptation. Borde has also held academic roles, including Lecturer in economics, energy, and climate policies at Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Sciences Po. Previous positions include Senior Analyst at Dexia Asset Management and Senior Economist at the Ministère de l'Écologie. Borde holds a PhD in Economics from UVSQ Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, obtained between 2000 and 2004.
