Fleur Newman is an experienced professional in the fields of gender, climate change, and environmental law, currently serving as the Unit Lead for Gender, Youth, and ACE at the UNFCCC since September 2011. In this role, Fleur has developed and implemented tools to assess the sustainable development co-benefits of CDM projects and has supported significant dialogues and initiatives related to climate finance and gender equality within the UN framework. Prior to this, Fleur held positions at Clayton Utz as a Senior Associate specializing in energy and environment law, and at Phillips Fox, where legal expertise was applied to property acquisitions and environmental law. Fleur's early career included project management roles at Telstra, focused on delivering client support for technology solutions. Fleur's educational background includes an LLM in International Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Laws from The Australian National University, an LLB from The University of Notre Dame Australia, and a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Development from Murdoch University.
